2012 Rotary Club Step Forward Day of Service: Mural of Hope Project at Westview School

Combining the talents of MOCAH Art Angel Volunteer and the Westview Middle School Family with a world-wide cause, Step Forward Day of Service are co-creating an original “Hope” mural, a 6’ x 6’ jigsaw puzzle of images and words collected from the school.

teers showed up to help with Step Forward Day, hosted in conjuction with the Rotary Club of Houston Skyline and Pepperdine University. Volunteers helped with creative tasks such as gardening, making greeting cards and even a mural project with Westview Students and their families. The Westview School is a private, non-profit school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The school was founded in 1981 to provide a structured, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children with learning differences which prevent them from being successful in regular programs.

Both Rhonda and Reginald Adams worked with the students, parents, teachers and staff along with additional volunteers to co-create a larger than life puzzle mural that represents the ”Discoveries” Westview Students make during their transition into high school.
